News: Minecraft Could Be Coming To PS3, PS4 and PS Vita
Minecraft is without a doubt one of the most successful games ever. Starting life on the PC, the block bashing and building open-world adventure title soon made its way to iOS, Android and even the Xbox 360.
Mojang, the developers behind the hit game are in a deal with Microsoft that keeps Minecraft exclusive for the Xbox 360 for a certain period of time, however, once that period is over Mojang can distribute the title on all other consoles, including but not limited to the PlayStation series of consoles, whether it be the PS3, PS4 or PS Vita.
Speaking to iGamer, lead designer Jens Bergensten stated that there’s the possibility to bring Minecraft to PlayStation consoles once the deal with Microsoft has run its course, though he also stated that a Wii U port would be “very unlikely,” though no reasons were given.
I’ve only really gotten into Minecraft in the last couple of months, and I mainly get my blocky fix on my Android (Galaxy Note, massive screen, gorgeous!) and every time I’m mining away, I always think, “damn this would be good on the PS Vita.” The possibility is definitely there, especially if the game is made for the PlayStation 4, just remote play that bad boy and you’re set! It’s a shame that the Wii U probably wont see any Minecraft, the GamePad would be perfect for holding the crafting and inventory screens. Still, never say never…
