If you’re looking for a guide on how to complete the Kafka companion quest in Honkai: Star Rail, you’ve come to the right place. Kafka is finally a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail, and she comes with her own companion quest which you can do right now in the game.
So, let’s get into how to complete this Kafka Honkai: Star Rail quest.
- Here’s how to farm Kafka’s trace and ascension materials in Honkai: Star Rail
How to complete the Kafka companion quest
To start the Kafka companion quest you need to be Trailblaze level 34 or above. After you start the quest in the game you will receive a text from an anonymous person. They’ll ask you to come to the Divination Commission.
Go there, then talk to Kafka at the location marked on the map. She’ll ask for help, and you can choose to either accept or reject her proposal. Each option will have a different outcome depending on whether you choose to assist her or refuse.
If you choose to help, you’ll have to defeat some enemies at a new location (it will be marked on your map). Defeat them and head back to talk to Kafka again. She’ll play a game of truth and lies with you, though you can answer her questions with any of the options and still get the same outcome.
After answering, you’ll have to fight more enemies before talking to Kafka again. Dispatch those enemies and answer the next question. Keep doing this until all enemies have been defeated and all questions have been answered.
Finally, you’ll be tasked with fighting Yanqing, another playable character in the game. Defeat him and talk to Kafka again to complete her companion quest.

What happens if you refuse to help Kafka in Honkai: Star Rail?
If you refuse to help Kafka in her companion quest in Honkai: Star Rail, you’ll get a different ending compared to if you decided to help her.
Kafka will try to change your mind through dialogue, but you can keep refusing her. Eventually she’ll give up and you can choose to leave her alone or help her. If you decide to leave by heading to the location marked on the map you will complete the quest and get the True Free Will achievement.
You’ll also get this achievement by completing the quest the regular way, but you may choose either option depending on how you want to approach the mission. It’s pretty interesting that miHoYo decided to add such drastically different ways of finishing this particular quest!
