There are plenty of mounts that you can get in Final Fantasy XIV. One of the most popular mounts that you can get is the Ixion mount from Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. Here is how you can get your hands on the fabled FATE mount.
To get this particular mount, there are a couple of steps that players will have to follow, including completing a quest and obtaining a special item which will allow players to deal damage to Ixion.
Here is how you can get your hands on this elusive mount in FFXIV.
How to Summon Ixion
First, to get the Ixion mount in Final Fantasy XIV, you will need to meet Ixion’s spawn conditions. Someone in the party will have to make sure they have a Stygian Ash that they can use on Ixion, as it has a shield on it that will make it invulnerable to damage until it is removed with the Ash.
Players can obtain this from Gazelleskin or Gaganshin maps. Alternatively, you can purchase one from the market board. Only one is required per FATE.
Ixion can spawn in one of three areas. Once you have activated the boss for ‘A Horse Outside’ FATE in the Lochs, it will not spawn for another 36 hours. As stated earlier, it can spawn in three different locations. These are the following:
- (X:6, Y:16)
- (X:16, Y:22)
- (X:29, Y:10)
Because this is a special boss FATE, it won’t appear on your map, however, if you are close to it, it has the chance to appear on your mini-map. Whilst there is no obvious notification on your map, there is a change in the weather, as it will change to Quick Levin– which only occurs when Ixion has spawned

Getting the Ixion Mount in Final Fantasy XIV
To get the Ixion mount in Final Fantasy XIV, it does mean that you will have to run this FATE more than once. There are also multiple items that you can get depending on what you are interested in.
Once you have successfully defeated Ixion, you will earn a rating. If you earn a Silver Rating then you will get 3x Ixion Horns. If you get a Gold Rating then you will get 6x Ixion Horns.
Now that you have obtained the horns, you have to make your way over to Rhalgr’s Reach and speak to Eschina (X:13.8, Y:11.8). There will be an option for ‘Wonderous Sundries’ and there you will find what you are looking for. If you want, there are other items you can purchase using the Ixion horns you have farmed.
