Marvel Snap Symbiote Card: Backstory
Marvel fans will be familiar with the term Symbiote for several reasons. They first entered the lexicon of the Marvel universe when an alien creature merged itself with Spider-Man. The alien being gave him enhanced abilities and a sleek new black costume. When Spider-Man separated himself from the creature, it found a new host in Eddie Brock and Venom was born.
From here, the Symbiotes were formalized more into a proper alien race, with the addition of characters like Carnage, and the Guardians. The lore of the aliens has expanded greatly, including their homeworld of Klyntar and their creation by the dark god Knull.
All of this culminated in the King in Black event in 2021, the big Marvel storyline of the year. The Symbiotes, or the Klyntar to give them their proper name, had been separated from Knull for centuries, after breaking free from his control and imprisoning him inside the planet Klyntar. However, thanks to the actions of Carnage, Knull was freed and regained control over the Symbiotes. This led to an all-out invasion of Earth, which culminated in Knull facing off against the most prominent Symbiote in Marvel comics, Venom.

Marvel Snap Symbiote Card: Power And Ability
The Symbiote is not a typical card at all in Marvel Snap. For one thing, you cannot unlock it or add the card to your deck. The Symbiote only appears in one situation, when the Klyntar location is in play. The Klyntar location absorbs all cards played on it and adds their power together in the form of a Symbiote.
The Symbiote card’s base form has one cost and zero power. These numbers may seem irrelevant, as the card gains all its power from the cards it absorbs, but they do come into play. You have to contend with opposing cards that can counter the Symbiote. For example, Shang Chi destroys cards with more than 9 power, and Killmonger destroys all one-cost cards.
There are many ways to counter the Symbiote, consolidating all your power into one card is always a risky move. However, the potential reward is an extremely powerful card.
