One of the biggest surprises to come from Microsoft’s acquisition of Mojang and the Minecraft property is probably Minecraft: Story Mode. Seriously, who expected it?
The separate, standalone title is being developed by acclaimed storytellers Telltale games, and while we’ve not seen much of it recently, it’s looking pretty darn good in the latest gameplay footage to emerge on the internet, courtesy of YouTube user OzzyUK. Well, except for all those quick-time events. Seriously, Telltale needs to find another way of getting the player involved…
The video is embedded down below, so give it a nosey if you’re interested.
Minecraft: Story Mode will release episodically, but in an unusual move from Telltale, the game will get it’s first episode released as a boxed product with the rest of the season’s episodes being made available at a later date for free download.
Minecraft: Story Mode is set to release on October 27th for the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PC, PS Vita and mobile devices. You can pre-order your copy here.
