That’s a lot of options to choose from, though I suspect most buyers will just opt for the regular game whilst the hardcore devotee’s will clean up on the various special editions, of which there is no price as of yet, but expect them to fall in line with previous special editions, around the £60-£90 mark would be a safe bet.
As well as the above mentioned exclusives and what not, there’s also an additional 60 minutes worth of gameplay exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 versions of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, something to bear in mind if you’re wanting the most bang for your buck.
There’s one last addition to the bunch; those who buy the game new will get ‘VIP entry’ to The Watch. is a programme that rewards players with bonus goodies and rewards for in-game actions, a bit like Uplay, but a bit more sociable, especially with the uber-social PlayStation 4 version.
As for the dreaded Season Pass and Online Pass, there’s nothing to report at the moment, though I think we can all assume they will rear their less than beautiful head’s at some point with the promise of more download content and what not, we’ll let you know when we know more.
Now that the ‘special’ stuff is out of the way, feel free to gawp in awe at the first gameplay footage of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag down below:
Well, it’s got to be said; the hype has started particularly early. Assassin’s Creed III is barley 6 months old and still has download content being released yet Ubisoft are already promoting the next adventure, more than 6 months before it’s due to release. I’m not the first to say it, and I shan’t be the last, but damn Ubisoft, don’t become another Call of Duty.
