Fans of Killzone and the PS Vita have been crying out for a change to the release date of Killzone: Mercenary, fearing its twinned September 17th release date with Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V will damage the impact of the true first shooter for the PS Vita.
Those cries have been answered and Killzone: Mercenary will now release before Grand Theft Auto V, much earlier actually.
For North America the game will release on September 10th whilst us lucky folk in the UK and Europe will be able to get our hands on it on September 4th.
The good news doesn’t stop there either, the pre-order bonuses have also been detailed.
If you pre-order Killzone: Mercenary, no matter which side of the “pond” you reside on, you’ll be treated to the Blackjack’s Briefcase bonus which gives you a boost in the online multiplayer component as well as some extra in-game cash to get you strapped with some nifty gear.
For North American players, if you pre-order with GameStop you’ll get the M224-A1 Light Machine Gun for use in both the single player and online multiplayer modes.
Nifty, eh?

This is no doubt good news for Killzone: Mercenary and its prospective fans. Releasing on the same day as the mega-ton Grand Theft Auto V would have no doubt hampered sales for the title.
