The Sims 4 has gotten off to a terrible start. The newly launched title has been the subject of heavy criticism for its lack of features, with fans speculating that EA and Maxis deliberately left out basic features such as swimming pools so that they could be sold as separate DLC.
The criticism towards Sims 4 may also have an adverse affect on the games sales, many long-time Sims fans have pledged to never buy the game, with some stating that if you have the Sims 3, you may as well not bother buying into the latest installment.
According to Sims 4 producer Grant Rodiek, Sims 5 won’t happen unless there’s enough money being made from The Sims 4, stating on the Sims 4’s official forums that “If Sims 4 isn’t successful, there won’t be a Sims 5.”
I’m not sure about anyone else, but does that sound a bit like a threat?
