Christmas is nearly upon us, and what could be more festive than a Delibird Tera Raid Event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
Delibird will be appearing more often in Tera Raids taking place from 00:00 UTC on the 23rd of December, to 23:59 UTC on the 25th of December.
Unfortunately, it’s not the Pokemon Violet exclusive Iron Bundle – a Variant that turns this sweet, Christmassy Pokemon into a ruthless killing machine so brutal it was banned from the OU metagame.
We’ve pulled together some of the best Pokemon to use to help you defeat this Tera Raid and catch Delibird.
- Finished the game? Here’s our essential guide to the post-game.
What To Expect From the Delibird Tera Raids
Unlike the 7 Star Charizard Raid, Delibird could have any of the 18 available Tera types.
It’ll vary between 3 or 5 stars. Higher star ranks will reap better rewards, and will also have an increased chance of having Delibird’s Hidden Ability, Insomnia. This is a great ability that prevents sleep. Pair it with a Tera Type defensively strong against Grass and you might have yourself a counter to the all-too-common Spore Amonguss in competitive matches.
Best Counters To Choose
Delibird is, put simply, a bit of a useless Pokemon. With its subpar stat spread and moveset, it’s hard to imagine Delibird being a key member of any team. That being said, if you’re looking to spread a bit of festive cheer this Holiday season (or just to complete your Pokedex), there isn’t a better Pokemon to choose.
Delibird is usually an Ice-type Pokemon. However, don’t be lining up your Fire-type Pokemon too quickly! You’ll need to check the Tera type of your specific Delibird raid and play a counter that deals super-effective damage.
We recommend being at least level 80 for 5-star Tera raid events.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
