The Blue Ominous Stakes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet unleash the Legendary Ruin Pokemon Chi-Yu. This is a brand-new a Fire/Dark type, hidden deep within the Firescourge Shrine.
By taking all your History classes at the Academy, Miss Raifort will spill the secrets of the Treasures of Ruin, and how they ended up being locked away in four shrines all across Paldea.
The shrine location will be added to your map, making this quest a little easier to complete.
To catch Chi-Yu, you’ll need to find eight of these Blue Ominous Stakes, scattered across the northern West Provinces: Casseroya Lake and Socarrat Trail.
Where To Find the Blue Ominous Stakes
Stake 1 – Head Northeast of Glaseado Mountain and follow the river until you find the mouth. The stake will be near some rocks.
Stake 2 – Atop the curved mountain top North of North Province Area One’s Pokemon Center.
Stake 3 – Head to Team Star’s Fighting-type Caph Squad’s Base. You’ll need to climb the cliff to the North to find this Blue Ominous Stake.
Stake 4 – Follow the river through Tagtree Thicket and head to the small lake.
Halfway there!
Stake 5 – On the top of the Firescourge Shrine. Nice and easy!
Stake 6 – Travel southeast of the Firescourge Shrine until you find the ruins.
Stake 7 – Head North of the southern Dalizapa Passage entrance. It’s a bit tricky to find – it’s hidden by two trees. The best way to find this blue ominous stake is head to where the grass turns to snow.
And finally!
Stake 8 – Climb the cliff that overlooks the Levencia Lighthouse and look near the trees.
How To Take On Chi-Yu
Chi-Yu’s Pokedex entry says it can control flames burning at over 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit. It came to be thanks to the envy accumulated within curved beads that sparked multiple conflicts in Ancient Paldea. It has very high Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed. If that didn’t sound scary enough, its new ability, Beads of Ruin, will lower the Speed stat of every other Pokemon other than itself.
It’s level 60, so you’ll want to use some spare EXP Candies to make sure you’re not under levelled for this fight. We recommend making your held item a Quick Claw for the speed boost and 20% priority activation chance. The Azumarill we bred for Charizard raids was fantastic in this fight.
