Dondozo and Tatsugiri are two new Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet. They have a symbiotic relationship – Dondozo, the Big Catfish, protects Tatsugiri, whilst Tatsugiri, the delicious-looking sushi Pokemon, hunts.
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about the two Pokemon, including where to find them, how to defeat their Titan form, and how to catch them.
- Here’s everything you need to know about your Legendary mounts!
Where To Catch Dondozo And Tatsugiri
If you want to catch Dondozo you’ll need to head to Casseroya Lake. This body of water is in the northwestern corner of Paldea.
But be wanted! This is definitely a late-game area – the Pokemon average around level 50 and can pack a punch if you’re not prepared.
Tatsugiri is slightly more complicated. It has three distinct forms, all of which can be found at Casseroya Lake. The Tatsugiri form affects Dondozo’s signature move, Order Up. It’ll boost a different stat after dealing damage to an opponent.
These three forms are:
Curly – raises Attack
Droopy – raises Defense
Stretchy – raises Speed

How To Fight It
Dondozo and Tatsugiri also form the False Dragon Titan. This is thought to be the hardest Titan fight thanks to the fact you’ll be fighting both of them.
Stay in Lake Casseroya and head to the islet northeast of the lake. Interact with the red Pokemon floating and, in a devastating scene, watch it get eaten by the False Dragon Titan.
You’ll unlock a new ability for your mount when it’s defeated.
You’ll want to bring Grass and Electric Pokemon for the fight against the tanky Water-type Dondonzo. Defeat it once, then once again with Arven to finish off the fight.
Or so you thought! Tatsugiri is now here to avenge its friend. It’s Dragon/Water type, which is pretty tricky to counter. We found a Fairy-type was best for this fight. Big up Dachsbun.
We recommend being level 50 or higher for this fight, it’s a tough one.
Once you defeat both Titans you’ll unlock Climbing for your mount.

How Do Dondozo and Tatsugiri Work Together?
Separately, Dondozo and Tatsugiri are pretty frail Pokemon. If you send them out together in a Double Battle you can unlock a secret move that is currently terrorising competitive play.
Dondozo has the Commander ability, which lets Tatsugir turn into sushi and hop into its mouth. It’ll then buff its stats depending on the form you caught.
When Dondozo uses Order Up, it’ll send Tatsugiri flying into the opponents. It’s quite frankly, adorable. Each time Dondozo uses Order Up, its stats will get another +2 boost.
