Orthworm is a friendly little dude! Just a little fella! It’s a brand-new Steel-type Pokemon based on, you guessed it, an Earthworm. Many players have fallen in love with this… peculiar design. It has a massive body, a fancy necklace and a face that perfectly encapsulates the ‘no thoughts, head empty’ meme.
Not only that, but this goofy guy is actually a defensive powerhouse, with one of the highest base defences in Poke History. It even has a broken ability, which we’ll talk about in a bit. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about Orthworm, including where to find it and how to defeat its Titan variant.
Where to catch Orthworm in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
You’ll need to head to a desert to find Orthworm in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Luckily, you’ve got a few to choose from. You can either go to the Asado Desert, or East Province (Area Three).
You can’t just run up to Orthworm though. It’s incredibly sensitive to sound and will run if it hears you approaching. Instead, you must sneak up on it from behind and throw a Pokeball to start a battle. Thankfully, it’s not a rare spawn, so you can just try again if you fail the first time.
Klawf is a brand-new Rock-type Pokemon you can find in Scarlet and Violet. This crabby chappy was one of the first Titan Pokemon revealed in pre-release trailers, and many Trainers are wondering how they can add one to their team.
This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about Klawf, including where to find it, and how to defeat its Titan version.

How to Fight it
There is also Orthworm, the Lurking Steel Titan Pokemon. If this worm wasn’t big enough for you, this Variant surely will be. You’ll encounter Orthworm when you find the Herba Mystica in the Path of Legends storyline.
You’ll unlock a new ability for your mount when it’s defeated.
The Lurking Steel Titan can be found north of Levincia City.
Once you defeat this giant guy, you’ll unlock a High Jump for Koraidon/Miraidon. Finally, you can start getting to some of those hard-to-reach places!
We recommend you bring some Grass or Water-type Pokemon to deal with this beast. You should also make sure your team is at least level 15 before taking on this fight.
You can’t catch Titan Klawf after battling it, it scurries away.

Does It Have an Evolution?
Because Orthworm is perfection, Game Freak knew that they couldn’t beat this design. Orthworm does not evolve in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. If that changes we’ll make sure to update this page.

Where Does Orthworm Fit In My Team?
As mentioned previously, this Steel-type has the highest base defence in the history of the franchise.
It is also immune to Ground-type moves with its ability Earth Eater. Better still, it can restore 1/4 of its maximum HP, rounded down, when hit by a Ground-type move. Pair Orthworm with a Pokemon that knows wide-ranging Ground-type moves like Earthquake or Magnitude and you can form a terrifying wall.
Its stats are as followed:
- HP: 70
- Attack: 85
- Defence: 145
- Sp. Atk: 60
- Sp. Def: 55
- Speed: 65
