Sony may be preparing to start the marketing blitz for the PlayStation 4 this May during the UEFA Champions League final, according to a report from PS4daily.com.
The site suggests that Sony will be advertising the upcoming home console during the final which is set to take place May 25th, the perfect opportunity to inform millions of the new arrival.
The Champions League is the biggest football (soccer for our North American counterparts) and attracts viewers in the millions, so it makes sense for Sony to start the push early, and to start it big.
Sony is the current advertising partner for the UEFA Champions League and have recently signed on to remain the official sponsor until sometime in 2015.
It’s not confirmed yet, at this time it’s just rumour as there’s no solid fact as of yet, but I think it’s safe to say that Sony won’t be advertising a new CD Walkman during the final, but will most likely start pushing for brand awareness of the PlayStation 4. Also, it could be an indication that the PlayStation 4 is to release this year, else why would Sony start so early? Either way, we’re just going to have to wait and see…

Wouldn’t it be funny if Sony actually did advertise a new Walkman? Or some nice headphones? It’d surely put us all in our places…
