Blow on the go
Rebellion has released some new details about the upcoming Switch version of the critically acclaimed Zombie Army 4, as well as a new trailer to dump that info into your eyeballs if you can’t be faffed with my words. Fair enough…
The developer has revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of Zombie Army 4 will run at 30fps, both docked and undocked. The game will also run at 1080p in docked mode but will drop down to 720p in handheld mode, which is understandable, and as Rebellion says, it is to ensure a smooth 30fps experience.
While it may be disappointing that Zombie Army 4 runs at “only” 30fps on Nintendo Switch instead of 60fps, like the next-gen versions, it’s also understandable given the hardware in play.
There is some more good news, though, as Zombie Army 4 on Switch will support two to four players co-op, both in local wireless and online modes. And if you have a Pro Controller handy, you’ll be able to use it in your zombie-slaying adventures.
And finally, while Nintendo lacks the achievement/trophy support found on PlayStation and Xbox, the Nintendo Switch version of Zombie Army 4 has its own in-built achievement tracker, which is a nice touch.
Zombie Army 4 releases on April 26th for Nintendo Switch with a whole bunch of goodies, and it will be available both at retail and via the Nintendo eShop. Bonus: The Switch retail cartridge will include the full game, meaning no extra downloads once you get home from Tescos with your game and some munch. Lovely jubbly.
